After 50 years of marriage, it was time for a really grand celebration. We hired a lovely old hotel near our home in Milton Keynes for the day, and arranged for a wonderful meal to be served to both of our families and our best friends. Just as in 1976 when we got married (see here for photos of that day), as well as in 2006 when we had our Pearl Wedding Anniversary celebrations and to a lesser extent in 2016 when we had our Ruby Wedding Anniversary celebrations, we were sweltering in the middle of a heat-wave; we were very gad that the hotel had air-conditioning! The celebrations continued well into the evening, giving everybody the chance for a really good catch-up session as well as to make new friends.
